Meet your summer camp counselors

Hi! My name is Katelyn
I am a rising freshman at Ohio University studying Child and Family Studies focusing on Child Life to become a Child Life Specialist in the hospital setting. I have always enjoyed working with children, making connections, and learning more about their cognitive development. This will be my third summer working as a camp counselor, and my second summer working with Kids Night Out. Outside of ClubWorx, I enjoy singing in the WSHS Cat4 choir, the NC Youth Master Chorale, St. Francis UMC Youth Choir, as well as participating in musical theater--and I plan to continue singing in ensembles in college. I can’t wait for another great summer with these amazing kids!

Hi! My name is Sami
I have worked in the education field for 6 years, teaching physical education and working with the special education department. I currently work as a high school physical education teacher at Willow Spring High School and was in the special education department at Fuquay Varina High School prior to that. I am also a Certified Athletic Trainer at WSHS working with all the athletes in school to prevent injuries and rehabilitating back to play after injuries. I also work at the front desk of ClubWorx. In my free time I love to spend time with my family and friends, going to sporting events or just hanging out. I have a daughter, Hadley, who will be 4 this summer in June. This will be my second year working camp, I am excited for the summer and working with the campers!

Hi! My name is Jasmine
I am 30 years old; I am a energetic, funny, outgoing, loving person who has a really huge heart. I have worked in the child care field for over 4 1/2 yrs now. Working with children has been a joy and passion of mine. A few things about myself are that I love drawing and painting, photography and music. I love sports as well; basketball is my all time top favorite sport over any other sport. (Also Steph Curry over Lebron any day lol).

Hi! My name is Braxton
This is my second year of summer camp after almost a year of teaching swim lessons at ClubWorx. I am at Wake Tech Community College pursuing an associates degree and planning to transfer to a four year university. I plan on majoring in communications to pursue my sports broadcasting career and minoring in business. In my spare time I love to watch and broadcast sports. I’m excited to work for summer camp because I went through this camp when I was younger and I love seeing the kids have fun.

Hello! My name is Jacob
I'm a rising junior at West Johnston High School and I was also a camper at Camp ClubWorx for many years, before becoming a CIT (counselor in training) in 2021, and now officially becoming a counselor this year! My goal is to attend Appalachian State University and major in Cyber Security, but my dream is to become a renowned artist and tour the world. I like to think of myself as laid back and easy going, making it easy for the kids to approach me and have a conversation, ask for help with anything. I look forward to being a positive role model for all of the attending campers this year, and truly setting a good example for the future of them!

Hi, my name is Dylan
I attend Wake Tech community college pursuing my associates degree to eventually transfer to a four year university! I plan on majoring in business administration with a minor in finance. I love anything to do with sports and one of my biggest passions is traveling with friends and family. This will be my third year working the summer camp and I am very excited for another fun summer! What I love the most about camp is being able to connect with the kids by growing relationships and being apart of the non-stop energy!

Hey! My Name is Alex
I’m currently a sophomore at Willow Spring High School where I spend a lot of my time playing baseball. When I’m not on the field you can find me out by the water fishing with my two brothers. Being active in sports and fishing is what truly makes me happy. This is my first year as a camp counselor.

I go to Holly Springs High School. I have not decided where I want to go to college yet, but I’ve worked as a camp counsellor for one year. I play lacrosse and like working with kids because I love knowing I can make a positive difference in a kid’s life.

I am a freshman at ECU Honors College studying Exercise Physiology. I have been working with kids since age fourteen as a teacher’s assistant at my dance studio. This will be my second year as a counselor! My favorite part of working with children is watching their personalities grow and forming a connection with them. My hobbies include dance, listening to music, working out, fashion, going to the beach, spending time with friends and family!

Hello! My name is Gracie
Hi, my name is Gracie. This is my second year as a camp counselor, I am filled with excitement for the upcoming summer adventures. Graduating from high school this spring, my aspirations lead me to pursue a career in a childcare center. My ultimate goal is to become a Special Education teacher, driven by my desire to positively impact children's lives. While I aim to bring joy and positivity to their world, I find myself to be the one most enriched by the unique joy that only a child has.

I am a rising senior at Holly Springs High School. I love playing soccer, being outdoors, and socializing. This is my first year as a counselor, I cannot wait to work with these kids and having a lot of fun this summer!

This is my fifth-year lifeguarding at ClubWorx and my third summer with camp. I am a rising sophomore at East Carolina University with a major in nursing. In my free time I love to travel and take spontaneous trips with my friends. I enjoy working with camp kids because they’re so fun and entertaining. I love being a part of their summer and seeing them happy during the activities.

I wanted to take the time to thank everyone who worked at the ClubWorx Camp this summer. My son absolutely loved the camp. Everyday my son would ask me to drop him off early and to pick him up late. I even had time to run errands and workout after work. The best part of the camp was the variety of activities. He had time to swim, participate in arts/crafts, play with his friends in the children’s center, and participate in different sports. He made so many friends there too because the staff promoted team building and activities that helped the kids get to know each other. My son formed many friendships which is so important! I never worried about my son while I was at work because I knew he was safe. All of the counselors knew my son, understood my son, respected my son, and made him feel special. As a teacher and a parent this is all very important to me. I will use the ClubWorx camp this summer and recommend the camp to my friends as well. Thank you. – Deborah Wuertz
